A spirited overture by Carl Maria von Weber launches a joyously melodious opening night that includes Elgar’s lyrical Serenade for Strings, Schubert’s tuneful Symphony No. 5, and Tchaikovsky’s crowd-pleasing Piano Concerto No. 1 featuring internationally celebrated Russian pianist Kirill Gliadkovsky.

A lavish evening of late romantic music by the greatest of Bohemia's composers - Antonin Dvorak.  The colorful and scintillating Carnival Overture will preface the devotional Te Deum for chorus with soprano and bass soloists, displaying the finest attributes of this superbly lyrical composer.  The evening will conclude triumphantly with his popular Symphony No. 7 in D minor.  From start to finish, the finest in orchestral-choral music in the late Romantic style.

A season that began with a rousing overture by Carl Maria von Weber comes full circle in a program featuring Paul Hindemith’s lavish Symphonic Metamorphosis on Themes of Carl Maria von Weber, a colorful overture by the Brazilian Romantic Carlos Gomes, and Aaron Copland’s evocative Quiet City.  All culminates when the distinguished artistry of cellist Nathaniel Rosen and violinist Axel Strauss combine in a presentation of Brahms’ masterful Double Concerto for Violin and Cello.  A grand conclusion to a wonderful season!
